The Philharmonia at Bold Tendencies last time out

The Philharmonia Orchestra return to Peckham’s multi-story car park-turned arts space Bold Tendencies, this time with award-winning soprano Ella Taylor as soloist and Rory Macdonald as conductor.

They’ll perform Górecki’s Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. The piece is made up of three movements: the first is a 15th-century Polish lament of Mary, mother of Jesus, the second a message written on the wall of a Gestapo cell during World War II, and the third a Silesian folk song of a mother searching for her son lost in the Silesian uprisings.
