Elim Chan returns to the BBC Proms to conduct the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.
The concert opens with the European premiere of Noriko Koide’s silkworm-inspired piece Swaddling Silk and Gossamer Rain, before pianist Jan Lisiecki joins the ensemble for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. The concert closes with Edward Elgar’s ‘Enigma’ Variations, which includes the noble, much-loved ‘Nimrod’.
This performance is part of the BBC Proms, the world’s largest classical music festival. Taking place over eight weeks, the festival features performances every day until 9 September - most of which take place at The Royal Albert Hall, in South Kensington.
The festival’s ethos is to provide high-quality and inexpensive concerts. For every concert, you can pick up tickets on-the-day for £8. They’re released at 10.30am for the performance that evening. Find out more about Promming here.
