Following its inaugural year in 2021, The Islington Festival of Music and Art returns with 14 events over a 10-day period in July.

Born out of the local garden concerts we organised after lockdown in the summer of 2020, the festival aims to recreate the community spirit that inspired us during that time and bring people together to experience high quality live music and art.

At this concert, ZRI will present their radical re-scoring of the Brahms Clarinet Quintet, which includes accordion and santouri (dulcimer). ZRI stands for Zum Roten Igel, or ‘To the Red Hedgehog’, the tavern in 19th century Vienna where Schubert and Brahms each went to hear Gypsy and folk music.
