A giant temporary stage will be set up in Trafalgar Square once again to host Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra for a free concert.
Music includes Igor Stravinsky, John Adams, Claude Debussy, and Maurice Ravel. At the heart of the programme is the world premiere of Eloise Gynn’s new work, Light Dancing, specially commissioned for the concert. This dance inspired piece brings together LSO musicians with 55 young musicians from East London and 18 students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Entry is free and no ticket is required. Gates open at 3.45pm for a 5pm start. Should the square fill completely (like last time), they’ll close the barriers and it’s unlikely any further entry will be granted. Bring food, drinks, and a rug to sit on.
