The Night Shift returns to the Old Queen's Head on the Essex Road with an evening of consort music for their first pub gig of 2023.

For this performance, an ensemble of two violins, gamba and lute, curated by Kati Debretzeni, spotlight London-based composers of the 17th century.

Music includes pieces by Italian-turned-London-resident violinist and composer Nicola Matteis, noted master of dance and consort music William Lawes, Matthew Locke (the leading English composer for the stage before Purcell), as well as music by Purcell himself.
