The poetry of T. S. Eliot and the songs of Marie Lloyd are brought together in Marie, Marie, Hold on Tight!, a sort-of-musical which merges spoken word and early 1900s cabaret.

The show is produced by Dead Poets Live: an organisation which have gained a reputation for presenting poetry in vivid and meaningful ways using of the country’s finest actors – Glenda Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Juliet Stevenson, Rory Kinnear, Denise Gough, Toby Jones – to help communicate great poems.

Marie, Marie, Hold on Tight! celebrates Marie Lloyd, East End legend and star of British music hall, and poet T. S. Eliot. The performance is part of f r a g m e n t s festival. You can read more about the festival here, and pick up tickets below. This performance also takes place on Monday 11 April.
