Edward Gardner conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform music featured in Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey, including György Ligeti’s dramatic Requiem and shimmering Lux aeterna, and Richard Strauss’s iconic Also sprach Zarathustra.

This performance is part of the BBC Proms, the world’s largest classical music festival. Taking place over eight weeks, the festival features performances every day until 9 September - most of which take place at The Royal Albert Hall, in South Kensington.

The festival’s ethos is to provide high-quality and inexpensive concerts. For every concert, you can pick up tickets on-the-day for £8. They’re released at 10.30am for the performance that evening. Find out more about Promming here.
