The Outcry Ensemble return to St John’s Smith Square after their acclaimed performance of Brahms’ requiem and the Beethoven 251 Festival, which presented all nine of Beethoven’s Symphonies.

This time round, they’re hosting the Brahms Symphony Festival - a celebration of music by Brahms across four concerts at St John’s 24 Feb-3 March.

Each concert features a pre-concert talk given by The Outcry Ensemble’s conductor, James Henshaw, where the music is explained and explored.

Their first concert of the series will feature Christopher Hopkins performing the first piano concerto. First written by Brahms as his first symphony, the piano concerto will be presented in the first half followed by the final first symphony after the interval.

For those who come to all four concerts in the Brahms Symphony Festival there is a 15% discount. Under 30s can get £5 tickets by joining the free SJSS Young Friends scheme. Find out more below.
