BBC Proms to return with six-week festival
The BBC Proms have announced their 2021 season: 52 concerts over 44 days, featuring 30 orchestras and ensembles and more than 2,000 musicians.
The festival opens on 30 July, and will host live concerts every day for the following six weeks. The first night features Vaughan Williams' Serenade To Music, described as "a love song to music and musicians", after a year of lockdown.
This year’s festival celebrates British ensembles and international talent, world premieres and debut performances, undiscovered work and audience favourites, in a summer of exceptional music-making for audiences live in the Hall and at home.
The Proms continues its commitment to accessible ticket prices with advanced seated tickets from £7.50, half-price tickets for under-18s and Promming day tickets at £6.
Every concert is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and available on BBC Sounds, and 20 Proms are broadcast on BBC television and available on BBC iPlayer, including the First Night and Last Night Of The Proms.
We’re going to take a look through the long list of events lined up, and will pick our favourites out over the coming weeks to feature on our things to go to page. Check out the line-up for yourself at bbc.co.uk/proms.
