Every year the BBC commission a range of musical writers to fill their programmes with illuminating insight into the diverse catalogue of music they present.

The Proms Publications team are looking to broaden their pool of writers, especially in under-represented areas of disability, ethnicity, gender and age.

If you feel you can write knowledgeably, stylishly and passionately about music – either in general or in specific areas of classical music – they want to hear from you.

They’re also looking to engage people interested in traditional, popular, jazz and contemporary performance.

It’s a great opportunity, as the BBC look to scale back up their huge live music output over the next 12 months. Find out how to apply here.
