New opera company debut in Islington

Welsh operatic star Elin Pritchard so missed performing over the last few months, she set up her own company to get live opera up and running again.

The aptly-named Let Us Make Noise debut on Saturday 3 October, performing Leoncavallo’s Italian masterpiece Pagliacci with an all-star cast featuring many of the UK’s national opera companies’ finest.

By coming together to perform Pagliacci, we will keep our passion for opera alive whilst promoting this wonderful art form. Between us there’s a wealth of experience, dedication and creativity topped off with friendship and huge respect. Let’s hope this is a recipe for a great evening out. - Elin Pritchard, Let Us Make Noise

Pagliacci is the true-story of an acting troupe led by a jealous man who is ultimately driven to murder his actress wife and her lover. The opera masterfully balances humour, shocking violence, and romance.

This seems such a timely piece at the moment. Performers are struggling so much under current conditions, but the need to put on your costume, do your make-up and give an audience a damn good show, is as strong as ever. - John Andrews, conductor

Let Us Make Noise perform Pagliacci at St James' Church, Islington at 8pm on Saturday 3 October. Tickets and further details here.
