This week’s live classical music in London features a couple of our favourite concert series / festivals back in action: Bloomsbury Festival and the African Concert Series.

Their performances are always unique, featuring exciting music presented in fresh settings. Check out what live gigs they’ve got lined up this week below.

Global folk ensemble Kabantu are stopping off at The Jago on 29 October to present their latest album, and trailblazing group Her Ensemble celebrate their second birthday at Colours Hoxton on 5 November. We’re working on both nights, so we’ll see you there!


Wednesday 19 October, 1pm

Pianist Zhu Sun plays Chopin’s third sonata alongside dancers from The Place performing new choreography by Noé Engelbeen

Thursday 20 October, 7.30pm

The African Concert Series hosts Francesca Chiejina (soprano), Themba Mvula (baritone) & Rebeca Omordia (piano) for an evening of African art song

Saturday 22 October, 4.30pm

Pianist Kaito Mizukoshi performs a series of miniatures accompanied by a digital video installation created by Gregorian Tanto


Saturday 5 November, 8pm

Her Ensemble celebrate their second birthday in Shoreditch nightclub Colours, showcasing some of their favourite music written by women
