What's on this week: classical music in London

Just two weeks now until noisenights are back in Camden’s iconic Jazz Cafe, this time with pianist Pavel Kolesnikov who will be performing Bach’s Goldberg Variations. You can pick up the last handful of tickets here.

For live music this week, there’s everything from a celebration of Austrian chamber music in a South London arts club, to free performances at the Royal Opera House, a yoga session with a string quartet, and new orchestral music with the London Symphony Orchestra…


Wednesday 24 May, 7.30pm

The Delphine Trio are joined by Maja Horvat and tenor Zwakele Tshabalala to perform Mahler, Zemlinsky, and Beethoven at the 1901 Arts Club

Friday 26 May, 1pm

Artists from The Royal Opera, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, and The Royal Ballet perform in the foyers and bar spaces of the Royal Opera House

Saturday 27 May, 2pm

enSEmble26 welcome yoga expert and musician Lene Skomedal for an hour of invigorating and uplifting yoga based a a string quartet concert

Sunday 28 May, 7pm

François-Xavier Roth conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in a concert featuring music by Colin Matthews, Jonathan Woolgar, and Cassie Kinoshi


Wednesday 7 June, 8.30pm

Off the back of his award-winning recording in 2020, virtuoso pianist Pavel Kolesnikov performs Bach’s Goldberg Variations
