Nicholas Collon and the Aurora Orchestra present the origins of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, reliving the scene of its notorious concert premiere - with dramatisations by actors Charlotte Ritchie and Karl Queensborough - and finally performing the whole thing from memory.
This performance is part of the BBC Proms, the world’s largest classical music festival. Taking place over eight weeks, the festival features performances every day until 9 September - most of which are at The Royal Albert Hall, in South Kensington.
The festival’s ethos is to provide high-quality and inexpensive concerts. For every concert, you can pick up tickets on-the-day for £8. They’re released at 10.30am for the performance that afternoon/evening. Find out more about Promming here. This performance will also be repeated at 7.30pm.
