BBC Proms goes online with every concert live on iPlayer

In the year that the Proms turns 125 years old, the 2020 season brings the spirit of the Proms to music-lovers at home with incredible live performances from all over the UK.

The annual festival usually spans the whole summer, with hundreds of performances taking place over eight weeks.

This year’s format has kept the eight week timeframe - with the first six weeks consisting of broadcasts of iconic Proms from the past, and the final two full of live-streamed goodness!

All of the above are available on iPlayer, with select performances also available on BBC Four and BBC Radio 3.

Landmark events from prior years are still available to watch on iPlayer - such as Radio 1’s Ibiza Prom, the John Wilson Orchestra playing the music of Broadway, Sir Simon Rattle conducting the National Youth Orchestra in Mahler’s massive Eighth Symphony, and more! Have a browse of those here.

The BBC have uploaded so many useful resources to go alongside this year’s programme, and our favourite by far are the informative and accessible notes for each live concert.

Every performance has a dedicated page full of articles on the performers and the music - just like we like to provide here at through the noise! Pick the notes for the concert you’re watching here.

Enjoy exploring!
