Handel and Hendrix's neighbouring London homes reopen to the public

Separated by 245 years and a wall are the London homes of baroque composer George Frederic Handel and rock legend Jimi Hendrix. Hidden away down a quiet street in Mayfair, the two houses have been turned into a museum and restored.

As of Saturday 22 August the museum will reopen to visitors, with just a few slots available on Saturdays during August and September.

In normal times it’s packed, so we’d definitely recommend heading over while they’re limiting numbers to maintain social distancing. It’ll be a rare chance to be in the homes of these two legendary musicians without being crushed by crowds.

Tickets are £10, and you can pre-book here. It’s worth checking out their website too - it has loads of info, and some great live sessions and baroque concerts recorded during lockdown.

If you want to learn more about the surprising connections between Handel and Hendrix, we’d definitely recommend listening to this NPR podcast from last year.
