English Chamber Orchestra resume concerts using new high-tech streaming service

The English Chamber Orchestra have announced a four-part series of streamed concerts starting on Sunday 13 September. The ‘Teatime Music’ events feature music designed to delight audiences both familiar and unfamiliar with classical music.

The music programmed for all four concerts is really exciting - Debussy's The Afternoon of the Faun, William Walton's Façade, Mendelssohn's Octet and Stravinsky's The Soldiers Tale. It’s some of our favourite stuff to listen to at through the noise!

The series will be filmed in the beautiful Georgian setting of Beckenham Place Mansion with design touches to suit the music of each piece.

The orchestra are working with new streaming service 4forty.io on this series as their inaugural orchestral project. They’re using some pretty cutting-edge recording techniques to replicate the immersive, live experience as closely as possible.

Giles Cambray, Managing Director of Spork Digital Ltd, who designed and built the streaming service, said: ‘Projects like this are exactly why we created 4forty.io. It's heart breaking to have seen so many musicians on hold during the pandemic, and I'm really excited that ECO can perform again to a wide and diverse audience online’.

Tickets for each concert are £10, with a discount if you go for all four - book your place here.
