Festival-style summer series of classical music announced

Braimah Kanneh-Mason features on 6 August with Plínio Fernandes

The sun is finally coming out, and with it the latest noisenights drop. So far all but one of our shows have been indoors, but that’s about to change.

Anyone who came along to our summer party last year will remember The Speakeasy – a quirky independent venue hidden away in the heart of Dalston.

We enjoyed that day so much that we’ve decided to expand our partnership to a summer-long residency, featuring artists from around the world performing classical music from Europe, West Africa, and South America.

Our initial inspiration for noisenights - a short set of classical music in a club or gig venue, followed by other bands/DJs - came from London’s thriving jazz venues and gig scene.

Having run over 30 noisenights around the country since then, the noisenights summer residency will continue to align classical music with how much of the rest of the UK music scene operates, where the summer months are taken up by the outdoor festival season.

Reflecting the eclecticism of British music festivals, our summer programme features cross-genre classically-trained artists performing classical music from around the world.

From Steve Reich to improvised music in the Griot tradition, to Paganini duets and Argentinian nuevo tango, we can’t wait for the summer. All of the dates and details via the button below.
