What's on this week: classical music in London

It was sunny when we excitedly launched our summer season last week, but this week’s forecasted thunderstorms have put a little bit of a damper on things.

Luckily, a scheduled mini-heatwave next week should lift our spirits, and there are loads of great [indoor] concerts over the next two months to keep you busy until then.

Before we return to The Speakeasy (last year’s visit pictured above) in July, we’ve got two noisenights just around the corner at The Jago - Aaron Akugbo and Milo Harper debut on 29 April, and Third Culture Collective bring their sell-out show from a recent tour of India on 13 May with Ashnaa.

You can find out about both of those here, and find something in the meantime below.

Thursday 13 April, 7pm

DEBUT return to Rotherhithe’s Brunel Museum for another intimate classical concert in the Thames tunnel shaft

Sunday 16 April, 6.30pm

Vox Urbane: voices of diversity perform their debut concert in Peckham’s Asylum Chapel, including UK premieres by Judd Greenstein & Tara Mack

Sunday 16 April, 7pm + 9pm

Celebrate the 45th anniversary of Steve Reich’s groundbreaking ‘Music For 18 Musicians’ at Pitchblack Playback’s album listening session

Saturday 29 April, 9pm

Trumpeter Aaron Akugbo is joined by Milo Harper to play adaptations of Florence Price, Claude Debussy, Nadia Boulanger, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and more
