Music at the Tower have announced further performances this winter.

The impromptu summer festival, started by Mary Bevan MBE and William Thomas, launched earlier this year to create opportunities for local performers and bring live classical music back after its enforced hibernation.

Held in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s Tower, Hornsey, the festival returns for a Christmas special at 5pm on 13 December.

The event will feature Christmas brass band music from Onyx Brass, carols from Mary Bevan, Daisy Bevan, David Webb and Lawrence White, and some congregational carol singing from the audience.

The Great Northern Railway Tavern opposite the Tower will be serving some festive mulled sloe gin and apple, as well as other drinks available to takeaway and enjoy whilst the performance is going on.

The organisers have launched a GoFundMe page in order to finance the event, with any additional money going toward an extra performance of Handel’s Messiah in the week before Christmas. Read more and donate here.
