What's on this week: classical music in London

The Speakeasy, Dalston

It’s the week of the noisenights summer party! And for all our concerns about hosting an outdoor event during the British summer, we’ve been served up a heatwave and possibly the best beer garden weather ever…

Laura van der Heijden will perform a brand new programme for us on Sunday, featuring Bach cello suites alongside music by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson and Imogen Holst.

Following Laura’s set, the renowned classical guitarist Fabricio Mattos will perform samba and traditional choro music with his band throughout the afternoon. Doors at 2.30pm, live music 3-6pm, and happy hour from 5pm.

The beer garden at The Speakeasy, Dalston even has a retractable roof (which we had imagined using for quite the opposite weather), so you can keep cool in the shade all afternoon. Tickets for that one can be purchased here.

If you’re already booked up on Sunday, then there are plenty of other great events taking place across London this week. Find our recommendations below.
