What's on this week: classical music in London
Pavel Kolesnikov’s performance of The Goldberg Variations at The Jazz Cafe last week was something else. Thank you to everyone who supported and sold out another noisenight in such an incredible venue.
noisenights are back in a few weeks in London Bridge with Filipe Manu, who’s put together a programme of folk songs arranged by Benjamin Britten and Paolo Tosti, as well as a series of Tongan, Maori, and Hawaiian songs by Lili’uokalani and Queen Sālote of Tonga. More on that here.
That will be our last standard noisenight before they break for the summer… but since it’s been a slightly summery weekend, it feels like as good a time as any to mention that we’re hosting five outdoor concerts in the beer garden of The Speakeasy, Dalston from July-September. You can find all the dates here.
We did a trial run last year with cellist Laura van der Heijden (pictured above), and it was such a success we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to expand it in to a series. In the meantime, here are our suggestions for this week’s live music, including another performance with Laura if you missed out before…

Your donation means that we can continue to push the boundaries of live classical music. It means that we can keep our events guide independently curated and expand our mindmusic programme which promotes mental health and wellbeing in our local communities.
