What's on this week: classical music in London

There are loads of great live events this week in London, from classical music in a car park to Windrush celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall and free outdoor festivals in Trafalgar Square and Brixton.

It all kicks off with our return to The Jazz Cafe on Wednesday, where Pavel Kolesnikov will be performing Bach’s Goldberg Variations. It’s going to be an incredibly intimate and special concert. Details for all of the gigs below.


Wednesday 7 June, 8.30pm

Off the back of his award-winning recording in 2020, virtuoso pianist Pavel Kolesnikov performs Bach’s Goldberg Variations live in Camden

Thursday 8 June, 7pm

The Multi-Story Orchestra and composer Kate Whitley join forces to present their new work about the search for authenticity and acceptance

Friday 9 June, 7.30pm

The Chineke! Orchestra feature in a night of music to mark the 75th anniversary of Windrush and celebrate the impact of Caribbean culture on British life

Saturday 10 June, 5pm

Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra return to Trafalgar Square for their annual free outdoor concert

Sunday 11 June, 5pm

Award winning charity Brixton Chamber Orchestra set a performance in and around the outdoor concourse of Brixton's iconic Recreation Centre


Saturday 1 July, 8pm

Royal Opera House young artist Filipe Manu performs Italian classical songs and Maori, Tongan, and Hawaiian folk songs at OMEARA
