Islington’s iconic live music pub The Old Queens Head hosts Sergio Bucheli and Samuel Staples on Sunday

The day has finally come. As of today, live events are able to go ahead without any capacity limits or social distancing.

After repeated extensions, often just as restrictions are about to be alleviated to the benefit of live music, we’re delighted that event organisers and venues are able to operate full houses (for the first time since March of last year).

To celebrate, we’ve lined up a bumper week of recommendations - including something for every day of the week…

19-21 July, 6pm + 8.30pm

Grammy award-winning violinist Nicola Benedetti presents a series of intimate concerts of baroque music at Battersea Arts Centre

20-24 July, 7pm

Pavel Kolesnikov and Samson Tsoy take on a residency at the Fidelio Cafe for a week of performances of Schubert piano pieces

Tuesday 20 July, 7.30pm

The Hermes Experiment return to Marylebone for a night of new commissions and innovative arrangements for their unique array of instruments

Wednesday 21 July, 7.30pm

Renowned vocal ensemble Echo Choir hold their debut concert at Kings Place, presenting music from the renaissance to the present day

Thursday 22 July, 10pm

The first late night concert at the 2021 Islington Festival of Music and Art features Bach sonatas and suites for flute, theorbo and bass

Saturday 24 July, 7.30pm

The Mithras Trio bring the inaugural High Barnet Chamber Music Festival to a close, performing Schumann, Boulanger, and Schubert

Saturday 24 July, 10pm

The Islington Festival of Music and Art takes over No 20 Arts with a night of solo Bach violin sonatas and partitas

Sunday 25 July, 10pm

The Islington Festival of Music and Art comes to an end with Sergio Bucheli and Samuel Staples playing Bach in The Old Queens Head, Islington
