English National Opera bring live opera drive-in to Ally Pally
UPDATED 21/09: after the premiere of the world’s first live drive-in opera over the weekend, we’re excited to bring you news of its TV broadcast, exclusive pics from the event, and how to grab some remaining tickets - read on…
English National Opera are bringing their pioneering drive-in opera series to Alexandra Palace, with shows starting in September.
The series will kick off with Puccini’s La Boheme on the 18th of September, in a brand new production of Puccini’s tragic romance La bohème. The semi-immersive production will feature performers both on stage and amongst the cars, so you’ll be right at the heart of the action.
There’s space for 300 vehicles at each event but, if you don’t drive, you can still attend by booking an Uber Box, or head over on a bike.
As if this event wasn’t exciting enough, Sky Arts will be filming and broadcasting a performance as part of their launch on Freeview.
Sky Arts is the UK's only channel dedicated to arts and culture, and as of 17 September it is available for all on Freeview and Freesat.
You can catch the production at 8pm on Wednesday 23 September - find out more from Sky here, and how to ensure you get the channel on your TV here.
