Most noisenights feature two short classical sets, one early evening, one late. All tickets to the late set include live music or DJs for the rest of the night, including jazz, latin, afrobeat, swing and funk acts.
This noisenight currently only has one set - but we're ready to add another, dependent on demand.
Live music needs your backing more than ever. Becoming a noisenight backer means getting tickets to hear the world's best performers up close while becoming part of a community working for a positive future for live music.
After a noisenight reaches its funding target, we'll e-mail all backers to confirm it and a small amount of extra tickets will be made available. These tickets are released in three stages, which increase in price the closer to the event they're purchased. Book early to get the best price.
Please note that due to the venue's license, this noisenight is strictly 16+.
the venue:
Based under the railway arches in bohemian Digbeth, Mama Roux's is Birmingham's party palace. A home for disco and cabaret, noisenights were the New Orleans-themed club's first classical night.
We last visited for our first ever Birmingham gig: two sold-out sets with Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Harry Baker in November 2022. We can't wait to return for what will be our last Digbeth date of 2023.

Lodestar Trio is a unique collaboration between stars of the Scandinavian folk scene Erik Rydvall and Olav Mjelva, and British violin virtuoso Max Baillie.
Together they bring a spirit of groove and improvisation into Baroque music by combining traditional nordic string instruments— the Swedish nyckelharpa and the Norwegian hardanger fiddle— with the violin.
Their repertoire includes uniquely re-imagined versions of pieces from the Bach cello suites, the Bach sonatas and partitas for solo violin, all played in Lodestar’s own trio arrangements, and other Baroque works by Merula and Couperin, alongside traditional and contemporary Nordic tunes.

In order to qualify for a concession ticket, you must be in receipt of Universal or Pension Credit, in full-time education, a Blue Badge holder, or under the age of 21. There are a strictly limited number of concession tickets available for each event. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
